It's RHACC now (and another Ms May)

A selection of my 'Craft/Art'

The Saturday that's just gone (yesterday)  and I was at Richmond Adult Community College - recently merged with Hillcroft it's become RHACC (which for me is a much a less memorable acronym).

I was there last year and quite enjoy it despite making a small-ish net loss I hope to do it again in 2018.

Neat Table Top Easel

The 'Fair' gave me a chance to use my new Table Top Easels that I got via e-bay -I'm really please with them the Essex 242.

Plenty of visitors but perhaps not close enough to Christmas for people to be panic buying (as yet) - there's often voices at this sort of event that feel that if they were on a different stall or nearer something or other perhaps they'd sell more - I'm not sure what the secret formula is but I do have respect for High Street sellers that shift product.

This week there's been plenty of news about US President Trump and is (it seems) ill advised Tweet regarding Far Right UK political group - seems he tweeted to Theresa May (but the wrong one) - I was entertained to find that there's another one too at RHACC responsible for safeguarding.

I was labelled as a 'Fine Art Photographer'  -I love the place

Events dear boy

Arty Artichokes

Politically things are fluid is one way of describing the current UK government - they're already  having some uncomfortable pressures exerted on them  regarding their new DUP  friends' attitude towards abortion being different from the mainland.

Perhaps though the arithmetic of the newly elected MPs  has been part of the Culture secretary's decision (as well as OFCOM advice) with respect to a referral to the Completion authorities - this would seem sensible as it will mean that talk of a grubby backroom deal will at the very least be delayed  and is perhaps a little piece of good news .

Or it might mean that News International will  look for another Tory to head up the government and takeover from Theresa..

Here we are

Politics in UK and (29)

Wow! the world of Politics is offering surprises by the day.

If I was still looking for Reds

What seemed like initially a good move by the UK PrimeMinister  to get in front of the new US President at the first possible opportunity appears to have backfired (certainly as far as the 'elites' are concerned) -Guilt by  association is a powerful meme to handle in these days of 24 hour news and our (UK) leader holding hands with a loose gun leader of the 'free world' is potentially an image that will run for years to come.

Listening on the radio this morning there was a hint that dissatisfaction with the performance at the top of the Government is growing and I wonder how long it'll be before senior ambitious figures in the party start making waves?

..and what has been good news from both sides of the Atlantic is that the role of 'The Law' is so important in protecting some of our 'rights' against the short term populism of Politicians. Quite impressed too by figures like former  Politicians (Madeline Albright)  and current Entertainers (Big Bang's Mayim Bialik) making principled statements.

£41.05 is Sunday's figure

Doors

In fact one of the street numbers I've been drawn to for some time is this number 29 - big bold and non-standard numbers but a small discrepancy on the level between the two figures.

29 but it's not quite level is it?

Plot Pruning and UK government splits

Cage - now you see it

Well as well as pruning in the garden I've got a job on my hands with
And it's gone
several fruit trees on the Northfields Allotments (Save NF Allotments).

Yesterday was incredibly mild and I got out there with my secateurs - also removed fruit 'cage' and had a bit of a chat with a fellow plot holder.

This time of year the allotments are much quieter but there are still some remnants from the Pumpkin trail.

A view of  my lovely shed
Save NF is still ongoing

The Government drift?

Well does seem a great shame that Labour  does not have a fully united party to offer a strong opposition  - seems that Theresa May the current PM is having a tough time with her party and today news reflects the government  lacking  coherence .

It's really unusual to see comments  of her Foreign Secretary  being somewhat discounted today by the PM - along with reports of tensions with her Chancellor and the understanding that Cabinet ministers can choose to 'opt out' of the Heathrow decision   the overall effect is of drift and recent announcements about UK's Rail services do not inspire confidence.

A big stop Sign ?-  UK  Rail and Heathrow picture remains unclear
