Well tomorrow I'll be taking up residency (with Helen) in Ealing's Pop up Shop at 16 Bond Street W5 5AA It's about 3 months since the first exhibition there and (for me) this is a bout wrapping up the project I started last November (see an outcome here) .


Surprising how much stuff and effort is needed to do something like this - in a way it'll be good when it's done but I anticipate there are still more things'll come out of  the enterprise.

We're moving in

There'll be new pictures (like this one below) and a chance to stand for  about 20 minutes in front of my 365 video.

The Centre Shifts

So like Shy Tories their are Shy Trumpers, the polls were wrong and the distaste for Hilary was greater than many of us thought.

Earlier in the week I heard people (folks not unlike me) talking about how their reactions  on hearing of UK vote on EU (aka Brexit) , talking as though the result  was a bereavement and their sadness being akin to news of  Princess Diana's death in a car accident in Paris.

Odd, last night  when I went to bed about 11:00 pm I though a Clinton presidency was assured, woke about 3:00 a.m for 10 or 15 minutes  and picture on News TV was not clear, and then around 7:30 pm saw 'Victory speech' from Trump.

In truth what we feel is a shift of the plates as things realign and we adjust to a move away from what we're used to -it's something we'll come to terms with.

EAG 101st Exhibition and Flaming Cow

Nice to be able to take advantage of our invitation to EAG's 101st exhibition at The Town Hall yesterday - concur with the sentiments in the opening announcement on how the year has disappeared so quickly.

Odd to think so much has happened in that year, politically London has a new Mayor and we're on our out of the EU (more on that shortly) . On a bigger scale the planet continues to heat .



Some nice work from John Kaye, upcoming exhibition collaborator Helen Trevisiol Duff and Eileen Reding (as well as lots of people I know less well) - if you're in the area over the next 3 days go and take a look (Ealing Town Hall) admission is free.

Flaming Cow

A place for a dirty burger

After we'd had a good look around we decided to go and have what might be described I suppose as one of those 'Dirty Burgers' - new-ish place called Flaming Cow (one of two branches so far).

Very nice burger - reasonable prices interesting selection of drinks and  good friendly service probably won't be too long before we're back.
[I'd like to see this and other restaurants giving complimentary 'digestifs' or at very least mints - small cost but helps to make an impression.]

Moving on and awards (oddly Yellow)

So as 'regular' readers will know after a year I've finished my '365 Project' (you can see the outcome here).

I have now  to put together an exhibition that I'm co-curating in Ealing  with Helen Trevisiol Duff -which will be (for me) largely about that past year.


Another person I've been in contact with, this time through BEAT (the ultra well organised Naomi Healy ) pointed me at an Award that I could potentially apply for  (here it is - I got in just at the wire yesterday) - I would put myself as an outsider but putting together some supporting information and formulating words around what I'd like to do next was really useful for me (and worth the £10).


As the application calls for some images - I've had to look through quite a few photographs I've taken to decide which ones support my  stated aims - it felt difficult to decide and to consider that they 'stood up'.


The other thing that this and other activities follow  me saying out loud what I'm going to do.

 Now it's out there other people will be asking me 'how's it going? '  and have you thought about this? - I recall reading that the guy (Sir Tim Smit)  behind the famous Eden Project used this to motivate him.

Ealing Cinema Good News and Red 22

A new screen or two 

The news that building work on Ealing's former cinema site is broadly  welcome - hopefully amongst the flats and coffee shops there will be some screens to show films on.

One of the effects of the development coming to life is the end of the Bond Street (Ealing) Pop Up shops -- it's going to be part of the new 'quarter'.

This November (7th -20th)  I'll again be resident at the old YMCA building  as part of a collaboration with Helen Trevisiol-Duff but chances are it'll be the last time we get to use the place.




We've started our joint planning and the invites will go out soon.
