A couple of shows

So now I'm not actively running a 365 project it's easier for me to miss a few days - not because nothing is going on but because there's a lot.


After Ian introducing us to Humour in Art decided to pop over to see Grayson Perry exhibition at Serpentine - nice to see a lot of visitors and a wide range of work - he's far from a one trick 'ceramics' pony.

I think Grayson is a very interesting figure (not least because he's from where I spent early years - Chelmsford) - He plays the humour card but is not scared to confront major issues - the idea of which would have once been anathema to most of UK society.

More difficult was the Arthur Jafa exhibition at Sackler 'sister' gallery  but worth a visit too.

Labour get more Pro European

Well over a year since referendum vote and dust still settling on the way UK Politicians are playing this - David Davis strategy  not playing  well on either World stage or  to his 'home crowd' - even more difficult to keep the painfully split bunch of Tory MPs (above all else they're keenest on keeping power).

If Theresa May's election gamble had paid off we'd have a far stronger hand it the deal making as it is here government is isolated at home and even more abroad - seems Labour are not scared to exploit this weakness - the autumn party conference will be interesting.

Seeing David Davies MP shaking hands (rather needy?) the true gravity of last years decision  to leave the EU is there for us to see - I wonder if Davies is focused on the detail  or if he sees this as part of realising his ambition to be leader of the Tories and the UK's Prime-minister?



Being made clear by Mark Carney that his view remains as before -it'll be challenging for the economy but  for some of those at the time of the vote they made it clear that this was not what it's about -UK bill to leave likely to be in the Billions - wonder where the extra NHS funds we were teased with (on that battle bus) will come from?

Bookmooch

As part of my 2017 have put a load of Business books on the BookMooch site - it's a place where you can get totally free books and use the points generated either to get other books or donate to good causes - as I want to clear space my points are given.

Worthwhile?

As I've entered the books onto the database it's been a reminder from my business studies (about 10 years ago) of  how I'd go through books looking for quotes that I could use in assignments - plenty of post its and bookmarks removed - I guess it's slightly more web based now.

Brexit troubles (Enemies of the People) and more prep

Catching part of an old comedy show (on Dave perhaps) - 8 out of 10 Cats and  Liam Fox story caused much hilarity.

If we're looking closely at the judges involved in the recent court decision to say that the government needs Parliamentary oversight perhaps we  should  look at the histories of the 'Big 3' government ministers who are responsible for getting us out of the EU, Boris Johnson removed from his Times  job for the untruths .

Liam Fox MP was forced to resign when he  took along his friend Adam Werrity  inappropriately  to defence meetings.

David Davis MP who it seems was quite free and easy with expenses for his constituency home is perhaps the most honest of the group- I wonder if the Daily Mail will produce a headline call them enemies?
